Watch one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays come to life
Double, double toil and trouble is headed to DUCTAC in a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s dramatic masterpiece, ‘Macbeth’.
The latest production in the Shakespeare 4 Kidz series will bring one of the most popular historic plays to life. The show will portray the rise and downfall of a brave Scottish warrior who – driven by ambition, fuelled by a prophecy of becoming King of Scotland and propelled by his shrewd wife – ventures into a world of treachery, murder and bloodshed.
With a mix of Shakespearean and modern language and plenty of songs and dances, the play will revitalize one of the greatest tragedies in literature.

Enter the spellbinding land of make-believe as Romania-born illusionist Megyes Abel spins his web of tricks at The Junction. On 29 December, the theatre will light up with Abel’s ‘Magic From Your Dreams’ show, featuring mind reading, hypnosis and magical displays.
Abel’s fascination with magic began at the delicate age of 6 and has taken him across the streets of Budapest to England and around the globe where he has showcased his craft to mesmerised audiences. A winner of the British Magical Society’s annual Close Up Magic competition in 2012, Abel was also among top entertainers for one of USA’s largest cruise companies, Carnival Cruise Lines. He has even performed in front of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative of the Eastern Region in the UAE.

Julian Bliss & Julien Quentin at Dubai Opera
A virtuosic musical adventure
Long-time musical partners Julian Bliss & Julien Quentin will jazz up Dubai Opera with an eclectic performance on 2 May 2018. Prepare to be mesmerised by tunes ranging from romantic clarinet sonata by Johannes Brahms to jazz compositions by Gershwin.
As one of the world’s finest clarinettists, UK-born Bliss has appeared in orchestras across the globe, such as Sao Paolo Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Paris and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Excelling as a concerto soloist, chamber musician, jazz artist and masterclass leader, he has also played at the world’s leading festivals and venues such as Gstaad, Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Verbier, Wigmore Hall and Lincoln Center.
French pianist Quentin has mastered his art as a soloist and chamber musician. A regular performer in North America, he has also been invited to play at several international venues such as Verbier, Lucerne, Gstaad, Montreux and Zermatt.
